We are looking to hire an instructor to lead highschool students and adult learners interested in the career. We are a technical college for Miami Dade County Public Schools. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your clinical pharmacy experience, adult education skills, and expertise in pharmacy software and laboratory techniques. You will deliver engaging instruction, develop comprehensive curricula, and foster a learning environment that inspires students to excel in their careers. Your passion for teaching and commitment to excellence will help prepare students for real-world pharmacy practice, including patient assessment, pain management, and compounding medications.

Duties

  • Design and develop innovative curriculum content aligned with current pharmacy practices and accreditation standards
  • Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on training in classroom and laboratory settings using learning technology and LMS (Learning Management System) platforms
  • Facilitate student learning through research projects, case studies, and clinical simulations focused on areas such as acute pain management and pharmacy software applications
  • Assess student performance through examinations, practical assessments, and ongoing feedback to ensure mastery of topics like medical terminology, pharmacy residency requirements, and adult education principles
  • Supervise laboratory activities involving compounding medications, patient assessment exercises, and pharmacy software troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with colleagues to update course materials, incorporate new research findings, and enhance teaching methodologies in higher education settings
  • Support students’ professional development by mentoring them on clinical pharmacy experience pathways and preparing them for certification exams

Experience

  • Proven experience as a pharmacy technician with a strong background in clinical pharmacy practice or hospital settings
  • Demonstrated expertise in laboratory procedures such as compounding medications and managing pharmacy software systems
  • Prior teaching experience in higher education or adult learning environments preferred; classroom experience is essential
  • Knowledge of pharmacy residency programs, patient assessment techniques, acute pain management protocols, and pain management strategies
  • Familiarity with research methods related to pharmacy practice or education to inform curriculum development
  • Experience using learning technology platforms (LMS) for course delivery and student engagement is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, pharmacy laws/regulations, and the latest advancements in clinical pharmacy practices
