Pharmacy Technician - Part Time (South End)

POSITION SUMMARY

**MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK UNTIL 7:30PM DURING THE WEEK AND 8:30AM-2:30PM ON ROTATING SATURDAYS**

Cannon Pharmacy (South End) is seeking a part-time registered or nationally certified Pharmacy Technician to assist the Pharmacist with prescription management and communicating with physicians' offices about patient medications. The successful candidate for this role will communicate with patients over the phone and in-store to address customer service issues and field questions about medications. Additionally, you will complete other tasks under the direction of a pharmacist in order to provide excellent customer service and ensure the pharmacy runs smoothly.

PHARMACY TECHNICAN RESPONSIBILITIES

· Sterilize surfaces and equipment and prepare the pharmacy for opening.

· Greet customers and answer questions.

· Receive prescriptions and check their validity.

· Process prescriptions electronically through the Pioneer Rx system and ensure all information is complete and accurate.

· Resolve issues when they arise (e.g. rejected insurance claims, verifying doctor dispensing orders).

· Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions.

· Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory.

· Operating and restocking the ParataMAX automated dispensing equipment.

· Undertake administrative tasks (e.g.record-keeping) as assigned

· Comply with all security measures and quality standards of the state and Cannon.

· Maintain adequate knowledge & awareness regarding Medicare Part D and flu shots.

· Execute daily store maintenance tasks to preserve the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy.

Requirements

· 2 consecutive years experience as a proven experience as pharmacy technician.

· Experience with an online prescription system is a plus.

· Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement.

· Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology.

· Excellent communication and customer service skills.

· Outstanding organizational skills.

· Reliable with a keen eye for detail.

· Successful completion of a pharmacy technician program is a plus.

· National Pharmacy Technician Certification is preferred, but not required.

· Flexibility to learn all roles within the pharmacy.

Schedule:

· 10 hour shifts

· Monday to Friday, rotational weekend

· Holidays

Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience: Pharmacy Technician Experience: 2 year (Required)

License/Certification: Pharmacy Technician License (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
