Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant

Job Summary

Duties

• Collect blood samples via venipuncture and capillary techniques, ensuring proper labeling and handling of specimens
• Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures, including vital signs measurement, patient preparation, and documentation
• Maintain strict aseptic technique during specimen collection and other clinical tasks to prevent contamination
• Process laboratory specimens accurately, including centrifugation, packaging, and transportation to the laboratory
• Record patient information, vital signs, and medical history with precision and confidentiality
• Support patient care by providing friendly assistance, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
• Follow laboratory procedures and safety protocols diligently to uphold quality standards in specimen handling and processing

Skills

• Proficiency in laboratory procedures and techniques related to specimen collection and processing
• Hands-on laboratory experience with blood sampling, venipuncture, and phlebotomy techniques
• Strong understanding of clinical laboratory practices combined with excellent patient service skills
• Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and hospital protocols to ensure accurate patient assessment
• Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately while maintaining a caring demeanor
• Familiarity with aseptic technique to prevent infection during clinical procedures
• Effective communication skills for explaining procedures clearly and providing compassionate patient care

Pay: Up to $28.00 per hour

Application Question(s):

• Day shift, hours are 8:30am- 5:30pm M-F with rotating Saturdays 7:30-12:30pm. PST
• Active CPT 1 required
• Minimum of 6 months experience REQUIRED
