Physician Assistant

Position Overview:

Our client is a busy, patient-focused Gynecology and Obesity Medicine practice located in Northern Virginia. We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and reliable Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team. This role is responsible for both clinical and administrative tasks. As a vital part of the team, the ideal candidate will ensure high-quality patient care, efficient clinical flow, and positive patient experiences. The candidate will be comfortable working with diverse patient populations and have an interest in women’s health and weight management. As a small practice, the right person must have a willingness to learn and work well with others.

Key Responsibilities:

● Provide comprehensive gynecologic care, including well-woman’s exams, contraceptive counseling, menstrual disorder evaluations, menopause and hormone therapy

● Evaluate health concerns, symptoms, lab results, etc.

● Determine appropriate and most effective treatment plan and manage continued patient care

● Educate patients on women’s health, including preventive care, reproductive health, and treatment options

● Manage obesity medicine visits, including weight tracking, body composition measurements, and lifestyle documentation

● Develop individualized, evidence-based weight management plan incorporating nutrition, physical activity, behavioral strategies, and pharmacotherapy

● Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans accordingly, and provide ongoing care

● Provide patient education on medications, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications

● Administer injections and medications as directed (e.g., vitamin injections, weight management medications)

Clinical Operations:

● Manage high-volume schedule, while maintaining exceptional patient experience

● Collaborate with care team to ensure smooth daily operations and timely patient throughput

● Counsel patients, translate physician’s orders and answer questions as appropriate

Compliance & Quality:

● Maintain licensure, certifications, and continued education requirements

● Uphold HIPAA, OSHA, and all clinical safety and documentation requirements

● Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice updates

Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program

● Current PA license and NCCPA certification

● Licensed to see patients in Virginia and Maryland

● CPR/BLS certification

● Experience in women’s health, primary care, weight loss, or related specialty

Preferred Qualifications:

● Master’s degree from an ARC-PA accredited program

● Experience with pelvic transvaginal and transabdominal ultrasounds

● Familiarity with obesity medicine, weight loss programs, including injections (e.g. GLP-1 medications), and/or lifestyle counseling

● Certification in obesity medicine or willingness to pursue

● Bilingual abilities (i.e., English, Spanish, Arabic, or others)

Skills and Competencies:

● Professionalism, reliability, and ‘can do’ attitude

● Excellent interpersonal and patient-focused communication skills

● Clinical accuracy and strong attention to detail

● Adaptability in fast-moving environments and ability to multi-task

● Proficiency with EMR systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks, Atenahealth, Epic, etc.)

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
