Physiotherapy Assistant

The Physiotherapy Assistant plays a vital role in supporting our chiropractic physicians in delivering high-quality patient care. This position involves working closely with patients to assist them in their rehabilitation journey, ensuring a safe and effective environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to enhancing the patient experience.

Duties

  • Supervising and administering therapy treatments in our therapy suite.
  • Assisting with equipment setup for therapies, including: Electrical stimulation, Spinal Decompression and traction equipment, Infrared Laser therapy and Shockwave treatments.
  • Working one-on-one with patients using neuro-rehabilitation equipment.
  • Instructing and supervising therapeutic exercises.
  • Implementing treatment plans for patients.
  • Prepare treatment areas and ensure all necessary equipment is ready for use.
  • Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.
  • Provide support to patients during exercises and mobility training.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the therapy area.
  • Handle administrative tasks including transcribing notes and managing phone systems.
  • Coordinate projects related to patient care and office management.
  • Exhibit professional etiquette while interacting with patients and healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Experience in a rehabilitation or clinical setting is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A proactive and compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A compassionate attitude towards patient care and rehabilitation processes.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage but not mandatory.
