- Design & Engineering: Perform wall thickness calculations and stress analysis for buried and above-ground pipelines.
- Routing & Alignment: Assist in selecting optimal pipeline routes by evaluating environmental constraints, terrain, and existing infrastructure.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare Alignment Sheets and Material Take-Offs (MTOs).
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all designs meet federal and local regulations (e.g., PHMSA, ASME, or API standards). Participate in HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) reviews.
- Procurement Support: Draft technical specifications for the purchase of pipes, valves, pumps, and fittings; review vendor bids for technical accuracy.
- Field Support: Provide engineering support during the construction and commissioning phases, including responding to RFIs (Requests for Information) from the field.
- Problem Solving: The ability to find creative routing solutions when geographical or legal "blockers" arise.
- Communication: Clearly explaining technical constraints to non-engineering stakeholders (landowners, environmental teams).
- Adaptability: Comfortable shifting between high-level office design and hands-on site visits.
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Mechanical) with Piping design experience in O&G is a must.
- 3 years in pipeline design, preferably with exposure to both FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and detailed engineering. in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Software - Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, CAESAR II (Stress Analysis).
- Codes - Strong working knowledge of ASME B31.4, B31.8, and API 5L.
