Role Summary

Planners are responsible to estimate a timescale for a project and to ensure that the outlined deadlines are met. They work closely with Setter Out, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Logistics to ensure a project runs on schedule and that material supplies are sufficient.

Role Responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling Support:

  • Assisting in the development of project timelines and detailed schedules for joinery and furniture manufacturing projects, from start to delivery
  • Learning to identify critical path activities, dependencies, and potential bottlenecks within the project lifecycle
  • Supporting the creation of baseline schedules, dashboards, and tracking reports to monitor project progress

Coordination & Communication

  • Acting as a key interface between the Setting-Out department, Procurement, Production, Logistics, Project Management, and external clients/parties
  • Facilitating effective communication to ensure all stakeholders are aligned on project status, requirements, and deadlines
  • Assisting in managing project correspondence and documentation with external parties

Material & Resource Management Support

  • Collaborating with the Material Engineer and Procurement team to understand material requirements, lead times, and delivery schedules
  • Supporting the follow-up and follow-through of orders with the Procurement department, escalating issues and tracking delivery dates

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Supporting the preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports for management review
  • Assisting in tracking production progress and coordinating with the production team to resolve any communication or coordination issues
  • Learning to perceive project phases and plot dependencies on tracking reports to facilitate organized follow-through

Process Improvement

  • Contributing to increasing team efficiency by providing operational and administrative support
  • Proposing and assisting in implementing innovations in procedures to enhance departmental functionality and output

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Architecture, or Interior Design

Experience & Interest

  • 3-5 years’ Experience in project planning, scheduling, and operations within the manufacturing or construction/fit-out industry
  • Worked on Extension of Time using different techniques
  • Baseline Schedules, updates, EVM, Weekly and monthly reports
  • Preparing the dashboards
  • Worked on Primavera P6, MS Project will be an advantage
  • Understanding the proper sequencing of the project
  • Working on Multiple projects
