Overview
The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Planner Estimator for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). This position initiates, plans, and coordinates work orders for the repair, maintenance, changes, and additions to the University Facilities. Maintains liaison with the department facilities coordinators, discussing individual problems and requests with heads of all University departments.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Maintains liaison with work initiates-discussing individual problems and needs with University
- Personnel, faculty, and departmental personnel.
- Initiates, directs, and plans preventive maintenance programs for buildings and equipment
- Prepares estimates for departmental projects and maintains control of the project to completion.
- Conducts acceptance inspections of contractors and in-house work.
- Coordinates periodic inspection of assigned facilities to determine short-range and long-range maintenance and repair requests.
- Prepares responses and administers status of fire code violations, life safety projects, and building code compliance issues.
