Planner-Night Shift

This position is responsible for packaging and/or product inspection to ensure smooth production flow as well as daily analysis of pending inbound/outbound order in partnership with others. May also assist in the planning, preparing, issuing and control of production schedules and material requirements. Ensures a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements/goals in addition to other various clerical duties.


Summary of Responsibility:

  • Meet daily production goals
  • Meet/maintain safety standards for the work area and machinery in operation
  • Meet established quality standards and time requirements/demands
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Compiles planning information daily while also monitoring daily reports and reacts as needed to that information
  • Creates daily plans and end of shift reports
  • Plans and monitors daily inbound/outbound loads.
  • Work with inventory to ensure accurate receipts
  • Notify departments/managers of discrepancies
  • Resolves problems by collecting and analyzing information and coordinating solutions with departments/managers
  • Prepares work area with the necessary items to ensure efficient and accurate process flow
  • Assist in warehouse areas as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area by supporting 5S activities
  • Other assigned duties

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • 1+ year of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or production environment.

  • Ability to meet established production, quality, and safety standards.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in packaging, product inspection, and clerical tasks.

  • Basic knowledge of inventory control, order processing, or scheduling functions.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) or similar systems for daily reporting.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to handle calls/inquiries professionally.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other departments.

  • Ability to lift [insert weight here—commonly 25–50 lbs depending on your facility] and stand/walk for extended periods.

  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and 5S-compliant work area.

Preferred:

  • Experience planning, scheduling, or coordinating inbound/outbound loads.

  • Familiarity with ERP, WMS, or inventory management systems.

  • Knowledge of 5S or other continuous improvement practices.

  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies or production issues.

  • Prior experience generating daily/shift reports and analyzing operational data.
