We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning & Scheduling Manager to join our team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will coordinate, manage, and oversee the planning and scheduling aspects of our projects, ensuring smooth project execution, timely delivery, and adherence to budgets. This role requires extensive experience in high-rise projects, villas, towers, and expertise in planning and scheduling within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Coordination: Coordinate the planning and scheduling needs of projects in collaboration with respective Project Managers within a matrix organizational structure.
- Baseline Schedule Finalization: Finalize the project baseline schedule by coordinating with internal management and Project Consultants.
- Time/Cost Claims Assistance: Assist the contract department and project manager in the preparation of time and cost claims.
- Tender Proposal Preparation: Involve in the preparation of project schedules and histogram proposals for tender bids.
- Stakeholder Meetings: Attend both internal and external meetings related to planning and scheduling matters.
- Progress Reporting: Prepare executive project progress reports for management, ensuring transparency and updates on project status.
- Resource Planning: Assist the HR department in defining manpower requirements and resource planning for projects.
- Training & Development: Identify training and development needs for planning engineers and schedulers, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills.
- Budgeting & Costing: Oversee the preparation of costing and budgeting for projects, ensuring accurate financial forecasting and tracking.
- Extension of Time (EOT): Demonstrate entitlement to EOT due to delays or disruptions and manage associated claims processes.
- Contract Claims Support: Prepare documentation related to contract claims, including delay analysis, prolongation costs, work disruptions, and program critiques.
- Progress Monitoring: Follow up on project progress, highlighting reasons for delays and developing required mitigation plans.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership to the planning team, offering training, mentoring, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance planning processes and procedures to boost efficiency and productivity.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and safety requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Educational Background: B. Sc. / B.E. in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in planning and scheduling within a building construction company.
- Relevant Project Experience: Experience in managing high-rise projects, villas, and towers.
- UAE Experience: At least 10 years of experience as a Planning Manager in a reputable construction company in the UAE.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential.
- Knowledge of FIDIC: Knowledge of FIDIC contracts is an added advantage.
- Delay Analysis Expertise: A strong history of delivering delay analysis exercises, dashboards, and management presentations.
