Job Summary:

The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules, ensuring that project progress is tracked accurately and in line with project objectives. The role involves coordinating with various departments, analyzing project performance, forecasting project timelines, and identifying potential delays or risks to support timely project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, monitor, and update project schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Prepare baseline programs, cash flow projections, and manpower histograms.
  • Track project progress and compare planned vs. actual performance.
  • Identify schedule delays, analyze root causes, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and procurement teams to gather progress data.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and earned value analysis.
  • Update and maintain project documentation and reports in accordance with company standards.
  • Support in resource allocation and leveling to optimize project efficiency.
  • Participate in project review meetings and provide analytical support for decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional):

  • Certification in Primavera, Project Management (PMP), or Planning & Scheduling.
  • Experience in EPC, construction, infrastructure, or oil & gas projects.
  • Experience: 3–8 years of relevant experience (depending on project scale).
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and scheduling techniques.
  • Knowledge of cost control and earned value management (EVM).
