Job Objective

To develop, monitor, and control project schedules, progress, and planning activities for building construction projects, ensuring timely execution, cost efficiency, and compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare baseline programs using Primavera P6/MS Project in accordance with project scope and contract requirements.
  • Develop detailed construction schedules covering engineering, procurement, mobilization, execution, and handover stages.
  • Identify project work breakdown structure (WBS) and define activity-level planning for all disciplines.
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules weekly / monthly.
  • Prepare progress reports, S-curves, manpower histograms, and productivity analysis.
  • Identify variances and delays; propose corrective actions to maintain target timelines.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Procurement, and QS teams to gather progress data.
  • Attend project meetings and present planning updates, constraints, and recovery plans.
  • Liaise with subcontractors for progress validation and activity sequencing.
  • Conduct delay analysis using approved methodologies (EOT, TIA, impacted schedule).
  • Support commercial and claims teams in preparing Extension of Time (EOT) submissions.
  • Review contractual clauses related to planning, milestones, and time impact.
  • Prepare resource-loaded schedules including manpower, materials, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with cost control team for cost-loaded schedules where required.
  • Analyze resource productivity and forecast future requirements.
  • Ensure schedules consider safety and quality requirements.
  • Ensure planning deliverables comply with client/consultant requirements.
  • Participate in audits and project review meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in planning for building construction projects (residential, commercial, high-rise, mixed-use).
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, and planning tools.
  • Good understanding of project management principles (PMI preferred).
  • Experience working with consultants, contractors, and project control teams.

  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, methods, and site operations.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
