Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in project management by developing, implementing, and monitoring schedules to ensure timely project completion. The role is to develop and oversee project schedules, coordinate activities across various stakeholders, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project schedules.
- Break down the project into work packages, tasks, and subtasks.
- Set milestones, deadlines, and project timelines.
- Define resource requirements (manpower, materials, equipment) in coordination with other departments.
- Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule.
- Identify potential delays or deviations and propose corrective actions.
- Maintain and update project schedules regularly to reflect actual progress.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to gather project updates.
- Collaborate with procurement, design, and site teams to ensure seamless integration of activities.
- Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients.
- Identify risks that may affect the project schedule and propose mitigation strategies.
- Conduct delay analysis to determine causes of project slippage.
- Align schedules with project budgets and resource plans.
- Optimize the use of resources to minimize costs and avoid resource conflicts.
- Ensure schedules comply with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain comprehensive records of schedules, delays, and changes.
- Utilize advanced scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.) for creating and managing schedules.
- Employ Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to measure project performance.
Key Deliverables:
- Project baseline schedules
- Periodic progress reports (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly)
- Delay analysis and recovery plans
- Resource and cost allocation plans
- Risk mitigation strategies and reports
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5years of experience in planning/scheduling in the construction or real estate industry.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Planning Engineer (CPE), or equivalent certifications are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of project planning and scheduling principles.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and other relevant tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and regulations.
