Planning Engineer

Job Summary

The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure timely execution and delivery of projects in alignment with contractual and organizational requirements. Duties include preparing baseline programs, tracking project progress, forecasting potential delays, analyzing critical paths, coordinating with project teams, and preparing reports for management and clients. The role requires strong technical expertise in project planning and scheduling methodologies, proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project, analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication and coordination with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably within oil & gas or construction projects
• Experience with KOC or ministry projects is considered an advantage
• Proficient in project scheduling, progress monitoring, critical path analysis, and planning software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project
• Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed project schedules and baseline programs in alignment with project scope, timelines, and contractual requirements.
• Track project progress, update schedules regularly, and ensure alignment with actual site activities.
• Analyze critical paths, identify potential delays, and assess impacts on overall project timelines.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather inputs and ensure accurate schedule updates.
• Develop forecasts for project completion and recommend adjustments to maintain schedule targets.
• Prepare planning reports, maintain schedule records, and provide updates to management and stakeholders on project progress.
