We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules and planning activities throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures alignment with approved baselines, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and contractual requirements, while supporting effective progress monitoring, reporting, and delay analysis for AL Darmaky projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop project baselines using Primavera P6 in line with approved scope, WBS, and contract requirements.
  • Monitor and control project scope, schedules, and milestones against the approved baseline program.
  • Track project progress, identify delays or slippages, and prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for official submission.
  • Coordinate with site teams, engineers, and subcontractors to collect accurate progress data.
  • Forecast resource, manpower, and time requirements to minimize activity slippage and support recovery plans.
  • Maintain detailed records of delays, disruptions, and changes to support Extension of Time (EOT) and claim submissions.
  • Develop and maintain planning control structures aligned with the approved Project WBS.
  • Produce and issue regular schedule updates, manpower plans, and progress curves.
  • Assess and communicate the schedule impact of change notifications and variations.
  • Monitor achievement of major milestones and evaluate project performance against planned targets.
  • Liaise with engineering, procurement, construction, and cost control teams to ensure integrated planning and forecasting.
  • Coordinate with cost control disciplines to monitor man-hour budgets and cost impacts of changes.
  • Participate in project controls compliance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare planning documents for bids and proposals, including bid schedules, manpower deployment plans, manpower histograms, and S-curves.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of all planning activities.
  • Adhere to company Quality, HSE, and project control procedures.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related discipline).
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in construction, infrastructure, or maintenance projects.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling, WBS development, progress measurement, and delay analysis.
  • Experience in preparing EOT support documentation and claims records.
  • Familiarity with cost control, manpower planning, and forecasting techniques.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office; knowledge of other planning tools is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to planning accuracy.
