Job Title: Planning Engineer

Location: ACE Properties – Kharian - Sarai Alamgir , Punjab, Pakistan

Reporting To: General Manager

Employment Type: Full-time (Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Position Summary:

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for preparing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of building construction projects. The role requires close coordination with the site team, contractors, procurement, and management to align project progress with the company’s goals and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop detailed project plans, work breakdown structures (WBS), and schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project
  • Define project milestones, critical paths, and key deliverables for building construction projects
  • Establish project baselines and regularly update progress reports
  • Integrate civil, electrical, mechanical, and finishing works into the master schedule
  • Progress Monitoring & Reporting
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly progress of site activities
  • Analyze deviations between planned and actual progress and propose corrective actions
  • Prepare detailed progress reports for management and clients, highlighting key issues and risks
  • Maintain accurate records of project timelines, updates, and revisions
  • Resource & Cost Management
  • Coordinate with procurement and site teams for timely availability of materials, manpower, and equipment
  • Develop resource histograms and forecast requirements
  • Assist in project budgeting and cost control through performance analysis
  • Monitor subcontractor schedules and ensure alignment with project timelines
  • Coordination & Communication
  • Collaborate with design, procurement, and execution teams to ensure schedule adherence
  • Participate in project review meetings and provide planning insights
  • Coordinate with consultants and contractors for schedule updates and progress verification
  • Communicate potential risks and bottlenecks to management proactively
  • Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all planning and execution activities comply with company quality standards and safety policies
  • Verify that all work aligns with approved drawings and specifications
  • Support the project manager in implementing quality control and assurance plans

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (Master’s preferred)
  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction planning, preferably in building and housing projects
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Excel
    • Strong understanding of construction drawings, BOQs, and project specifications
    • Knowledge of cost control, productivity analysis, and progress reporting
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and coordination abilities
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Work Environment:

  • Office and site-based role with frequent coordination visits to project sites
