Job Purpose:
The Powerplant Planning Engineer is responsible for the technical management of engines within the Engine Workshop, ensuring the engine workscope is fully prepared to meet incoming customer engines. With focus on continued airworthiness and regulatory compliance. This includes managing technical data, planning and monitoring engine systems, and ensuring alignment between customers CAMO and the Engine workshop production team. The role directly supports The Engine workshop production team and Engine MRO facilities to ensure optimal engine health, reliability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning Responsibilities:
- Review customer work-packs and create digital work-pack for engine input in the engine shop software (IFS Cloud).
- Provide customer CAMO with access to review completed task cards ensuring all operational actions are fully documented, traceable, and aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and update system programs and tasks as advised by the customer.
- Provide feedback to the customer with detailed engine condition and defect reports.
- Seek customer approval and sign off for additional out of scope work.
- Check and verify the workpack has been completed and all regulatory signoff (EASA Form 1) has been completed.
- Participate in reliability programs, identifying trends and recommending corrective/preventive actions.
Engine Shop Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate engine shop visits with internal and external stakeholders (CAMO, Engine Shop).
- Review and analyze engine teardown reports, component condition reports, and shop findings, and incorporate results into future planning and implementation programs.
- Ensure engine components are installed/removed only under conditions defined in the CAMO-approved documentation and interface procedures.
- Liaise with Customer Camo for technical support, repair approvals, and cost-effective component management.
- Track shop performance against the agreed production timeline.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a Engine Planning role, with a focus on CFM56 engines. Rolls Royce Trent 700/800 experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent technical writing and documentation control.
- Proven experience with aircraft/engine maintenance planning, reliability, and records management.
- Working knowledge of EASA Part-M/Part-CAMO, Part-145, requirements.
- Hands-on experience with engine shop visit planning, performance analysis, or component evaluation.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing engineering orders, SB assessments, and modification justifications.
- Proven experience in managing maintenance programs and ensuring compliance with EASA regulations.
- Proficiency in using maintenance tracking software.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple project, prioritize tasks identify and address problems, and meet deadlines
