Job Overview
:
The Planning Manager will oversee and lead all aspects of planning and scheduling for electrical engineering projects, particularly focusing on substations, electrical systems, and manufacturing of electrical components. This role requires a strong background in engineering services, project management, and the ability to coordinate the timely and cost-effective delivery of large-scale projects in the electrical infrastructure or manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive project schedules for electrical engineering projects, including substation construction or manufacturing processes for electrical equipment.

Define project timelines, key milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.

Ensure that all projects are planned with appropriate resource allocation, risk assessments, and timeframes.

Lead a team of planning engineers and coordinators, guiding them through day-to-day project planning and schedule management activities.

Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders (suppliers, contractors) to ensure alignment with project goals.

Communicate effectively with teams across disciplines to ensure project schedules are met and that project tasks are completed on time.

Efficiently allocate resources (labor, equipment, and materials) for substation and manufacturing projects.

Manage resource scheduling, identifying potential issues or resource shortages, and take proactive steps to mitigate risks.

Ensure project planning aligns with the approved budget and resources.

Monitor ongoing project costs, and implement cost-saving measures where applicable.

Report on budget performance and deviations, providing corrective actions when necessary.

Oversee the quality control and inspection processes, ensuring that all stages of the project meet both internal and client specifications.

Qualifications and Skills

: Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
