Planning Manager – Apparel Retail

Job Overview

A growing Retail Apparel Brand is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to lead product planning, demand forecasting, and inventory management for retail operations.

The role requires strong understanding of product performance, demand forecasting, sourcing coordination, and production planning to ensure the right products are available at the right time to maximize sales.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Sales Planning

· Perform detailed and in-depth analysis of: historical sales data, products performance and their sales trends, market understanding and trends to ensure accurate forecast of product demand

· Identify fast-moving, average, and slow-moving products to guide planning decisions.

· Develop demand forecasts to support retail sales targets.

Product Development & Sourcing Coordination

· Work closely with fabric sourcing, design, and merchandising teams for product planning.

· Responsible for fabric sourcing decisions with the procurement & Design team.

· Contribute to product category development strategies.

Production Planning

· Prepare and assign stitching and production plans to the Production Manager.

· Ensure production schedules meet planning requirements.

Inventory & Supply Chain Control

· Monitor stock levels across all locations to ensure availability.

· Implement inventory control systems to minimize shortages and excess stock.

· Ensure product availability for distribution teams in time to maximize sales.

Performance Monitoring

· Monitor sales performance against forecasts and recommend adjustments.

· Maintain coordination with retail stores, warehouse, and distribution teams.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field

· 7+ years’ experience in apparel retail planning / merchandising / supply chain

· Strong understanding of demand forecasting, inventory control, and product planning

· Experience coordinating with design, sourcing, production, and retail teams

· Strong analytical and planning skills

· Proficiency in Excel / Power BI / ERP systems
