Plant Fitter

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plant Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and assembling plant equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with various hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings. The Plant Fitter will play a vital part in supporting the smooth running of our manufacturing operations through expert equipment maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
• Repair and replace faulty components, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Fabricate parts using welding, soldering, and other fabrication techniques as required.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as excavators and forklifts safely and effectively.
• Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Assist with equipment assembly, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
• Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot complex issues promptly.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.

Skills

• Proven experience in fabrication, welding, soldering, electrical work, or mechanical maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and assembly instructions.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as excavators and forklifts.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on equipment repair and maintenance.
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
• Customer service orientation when liaising with internal teams or external clients regarding equipment issues.

Pay: £34,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
