Job Title: Fire Fighting & Plumbing Engineer

Reports To: MEP Project Manager / Senior Mechanical Engineer- HVAC
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Fighting & Plumbing Engineer to join our MEP team in a commercial and industrial HVAC company. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, inspecting, and maintaining fire protection systems and plumbing networks in accordance with local and international codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Engineering:
- Design fire protection and plumbing systems including pipe sizing, routing, and equipment selection.
- Prepare shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD / Revit.
- Conduct hydraulic calculations for fire suppression systems (sprinkler, hydrant, FM200, etc.).
- Select appropriate pumps, valves, fixtures, and accessories.
- Coordinate with HVAC and electrical teams for clash-free designs.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA, IPC, and local authority standards (e.g., Civil Defense, DEWA, etc.).
Project Execution:
- Oversee site installation of plumbing and firefighting systems.
- Review material submittals and method statements.
- Attend site coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and clients.
- Supervise and inspect installation work to ensure quality and adherence to design/specs.
- Perform system testing and commissioning (e.g., hydrostatic pressure test, flow test, etc.).
- Coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare BOQs, technical reports, and compliance documentation.
- Liaise with civil defense and relevant authorities for design approvals and inspections.
- Maintain documentation for inspection and commissioning records.
- Assist in HSE compliance related to fire and safety systems.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
- 3–7 years of experience in firefighting and plumbing engineering in MEP projects (commercial & industrial sectors).
- Proven experience in HVAC-integrated projects is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), and MS Office.
- Familiar with KFF Standards and fire protection codes (NFPA, ASHRAE).
- Knowledge of plumbing codes (UPC, IPC).
- Understanding of pump head calculation, pipe friction loss, and drainage systems.

- Capable of working under pressure and managing multiple priorities.

Working Conditions:
