Position Summary

The Polymer Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and adjusting key process parameters for fermentation and hydration through the Distributed Control System (DCS). This includes responding to toxic gas alarms, coordinating with field operators, controlling reaction conditions, tracking tank levels, and maintaining accurate production records. The role ensures stable, safe, and efficient operation of continuous production processes.


Main Responsibilities

  • Respond immediately to acrylonitrile toxic gas alarms in the central control room; verify conditions with on-site hydration personnel and report findings to the team leader.
  • Monitor fermentation tank temperature and ambient air temperature; provide operational direction to fermentation staff to ensure all control points remain within specified limits.
  • Adjust hydration reaction temperature and acrylonitrile feed based on process conditions; coordinate with hydration operators to maintain proper reaction control.
  • Monitor fermentation liquid storage temperature and tank levels (pure water tank, fermentation liquid tank, washing liquid tank, filtrate tank, dilute tank, etc.); communicate with field operators to maintain normal ranges.
  • Monitor refrigerant temperature and pressure; coordinate refrigeration unit switching according to system needs and reaction conditions.
  • Complete all DCS-related reporting, including fermentation and hydration logs, and compile daily production data for the workshop.
  • Ensure proper shift handover:
  • Any abnormality identified during the shift belongs to the current operator’s responsibility.
  • Maintain cleanliness and 6S standards within the control room.
  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by supervisors or workshop leadership.

Qualifications

  • College degree or above
  • Background in chemical operations, automation, or related fields preferred
  • Knowledge of DCS operation and process monitoring
  • Proficient in computer operation and data entry
  • Strong safety awareness, discipline, and attention to detail
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to make accurate decisions in real time
  • Strong sense of safety, discipline, and operational responsibility
  • Reliable, attentive, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication skills and strong teamwork mindset

Training Requirements

  • Safety training

Language Requirement

English Level: A2 (Basic Operational English)

  • Ability to understand and use everyday expressions related to work tasks.
  • Ability to communicate operational issues using simple words and phrases.
  • Ability to read basic work instructions with the support of diagrams or visual aids.

Work Environment: Indoor (Central Control Room)
Work Schedule: Rotating shifts (3/2 system)
