We are looking for a pond maintenance specialist to join our company. This person should be hardworking and dependable. This person should have at minimum 2 years’ experience in the Landscape or Aquatic/pond field. This person should also have general knowledge of plant material, landscaping and/or garden center experience. Experience with ponds and fish is important. This person should possess strong people skills and willingness to build customer relations. The duties required will include sales and maintenance of ponds and water features. This is an hourly position with both day and weekend hours available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Installation: Install ponds, water fountains, waterfalls, filtration systems, and other aquatic features.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform regular maintenance on ponds, including water testing, filtration checks, and cleaning. Troubleshoot and repair any issues related to pumps, filtration systems, water flow, and aquatic life.
- Water Quality Management: Monitor and adjust water quality parameters (e.g., pH, temperature, oxygen levels) to ensure a healthy environment for aquatic plants and fish.
- Aquatic Plant & Fish Care: Provide advice and care for aquatic plants and fish, including proper planting, fish health, and habitat management.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve issues such as algae growth, water quality problems, and pump malfunctions.
- Seasonal Care: Offer seasonal services such as winterization of ponds, as well as spring cleanings and preparations for warmer weather.
- Safety & Environmental Compliance: Ensure that all work is completed safely and in compliance with environmental regulations. Handle all chemicals and materials according to safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in pond installation, maintenance, or aquatics is preferred but not required. On-the-job training is available.
- Knowledge of Aquatic Systems: Strong understanding of pond ecosystems, filtration systems, water chemistry, and aquatic plant and fish care.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to water quality, equipment malfunctions, and system performance.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy materials, digging, and working in various weather conditions.
- Customer Service Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and provide excellent customer service.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure that all systems are functioning properly and safely, with a focus on the health and aesthetic quality of the ponds.
- Valid Driver’s License: Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a company vehicle to job sites.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
