Pool Construction Project Manager

Position Overview: The Project Manager plays a crucial role in managing construction projects, coordinating in-house staff and sub-contractors, maintaining quality control, meeting with inspectors, scheduling, ordering equipment and materials, handling change orders, assisting clients with material selections, performing orientations, and contributing to construction safety procedures. Reporting to the Construction Manager, this position requires effective communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to meeting project timelines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Scheduling and Coordination:
• Provides in-house staff and sub-contractors field technical support for the assigned construction projects.
• Coordinates details of a specific phase to ensure completion of that given phase or project.
• Provide schedule updates to Project coordinator and ensures an accurate project schedule based on scope of work.
• Works with project coordinator to determine assigned subs and in-house employees for project schedule.
• Coordinates with outside vendors, contractors or architects to ensure project details are implemented, followed through and communication to such teams.
• Recommends actions to maintain project budgets and ensure completion within the agreed time frame.
• Financial Performance
• Insures all costs are accounted for in a project
• Gives approval of invoices to accounting team at the correct time frame
• Ensures progress invoices are paid in full prior to commencing next phase of work
• Quality Control:
• Provides quality control for in-house staff and sub-contractors.
• Ensures scope of work, change orders, selections, and approved plans are followed and implemented.
• Ensures subs and field personnel are performing work at a high standard and if not, responsible for ensuring that is addressed.
• Inspector Meetings:
• Meets with inspectors during the construction of projects.
• Pre-construction Meetings:
• Participates in pre-construction meetings.
• Material and Equipment Management:
• Ensures equipment and material for pool projects have timely delivery.
• Change Orders:
• Creates and follows up on all change orders, ensuring they are approved, completed, and invoiced.
• Client Assistance:
• Assists clients with material selections and pool tours.
• Sets expectations with the client of the project flow and scheduled work
• Works with client to understand and address items in contracted scope of work throughout the project.
• Client Orientations:
• Performs orientations with clients.
• Ensures timely and smooth transition to service department
• Ensures scope of work is full commenced at completion of project.
• Personnel Management:
• Makes recommendations for hiring, raises, and termination of foremen and field personnel.
• Construction Safety:
• Assists with construction safety procedures and policies.
• Punctuality and Attire:
• Shows up to work on time and in company attire.
• Follows Safety Procedures:
• Follows company safety procedures.
• Other Duties:
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Authority:

• 100% authority to coordinate installation details with in-house staff and sub-contractors.
• 100% authority to provide change orders of $5k or less without approval. Anything over $10k needs manager approval.
• 100% approval to absorb costs up to $500 without approval. Anything over needs manager approval.
• 100% authority to order and provide equipment and materials for construction projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid California driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Great customer service skills.
• Overall knowledge of the pool industry and construction.
• Computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, construction management software.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
