Creative Brief – Set Designer / Set Decorator

Project: Nightmare Pop-Up Bar (Halloween 2025)
Theme: Inspired by Tim Burton (dark whimsical, gothic, surreal)
Live Dates: October 3 – November 1, 2025

Scope of Work

• Concept & Design Execution:
• Develop an immersive set and décor concept consistent with a Tim Burton–inspired Halloween theme. The design should feel cinematic, eerie yet playful, and Instagrammable.
• Prop & Décor Sourcing:

Identify, source, and secure all required props, furniture, lighting, textiles, and specialty décor. Must have strong vendor network and ability to find or fabricate unique items.

• Build & Installation:

Oversee fabrication of custom builds where needed (e.g., oversized props, whimsical gothic arches, twisted furniture, sculptural elements). Lead on-site install during the last week of September.

Candidate must be experienced in temporary installations and pop-up events—ensuring durability for a 4-week run while also planning for quick strike/de-installation.Deliverables

• Event-Specific Knowledge:
• Design and layout plan with mood boards/references.
• Itemized prop & décor list with sourcing plan.
• Installation and breakdown management.

Key Dates

• Final Concept Approval: by mid-September.
• Install Window: September 23–30.
• Pop-Up Run: October 3 – November 1, 2025.
• De-Install: November 1–2, 2025.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience with set design for pop-ups, immersive experiences, or themed events.
• Strong creative vision aligned with Tim Burton–inspired aesthetic.
• Hands-on with sourcing, fabrication, and installation.
• Able to manage budget, vendors, and timelines efficiently.
• Available for full installation week in late September.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
