Port Engineer

Responsibilities

•Maintain and coordinate repair of machinery and equipment to ensure their optimal working condition

• Liaise with vessels’ captain and crew & shore personnel to ensure schedules and budgets are maintained and vessels are operated safely and efficiently

• Monitor and co-ordinate the planned maintenance system of hull and deck engines on a regular basis

• Ensure thorough upkeep of stores and control engine room spare parts

• Responsible for co-ordination of services, maintenance orders and consumables inventory

• Ensure that the manning resources and dry-docking requirements are fully met to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs

• Conduct follow up surveys on each vessel and communicate findings to Port Captain

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in a related discipline, or equivalent

• Minimum 05 years of related work experience in similar industries
