Post Closing Specialist

The Post Closing Specialist is responsible for ensuring closed loan packages' accuracy, completion, and compliance. This role involves reviewing, scanning, and archiving loan documentation, handling incoming mail, and coordinating with internal and external parties to resolve document errors. The specialist will prepare loan packages for final delivery to investors or housing finance agencies and work with document custodians to clear exceptions for final certifications. Strong organizational, communication, and attention to detail skills are essential, as well as the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
  • Prior post-closing experience, preferred Interest in learning about the mortgage industry.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent proofreading skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Encompass or similar loan origination software.
Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:
  • Receive, open, sort, and process incoming mail, ensuring it is assigned to the appropriate party.
  • Review closing packages for completeness and accuracy, prepare them for scanning, and save them in Encompass.
  • Communicate with internal and external parties to correct document errors and request missing documents, ensuring follow-through to completion.
  • Maintain and organize the collateral safe and file room, package notes, and ship to warehouse banks.
  • Communicate effectively with internal clients and external parties, providing timely and reliable service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Document errors in Encompass for compliance review
  • Additional duties as assigned
