Post Production Manager (Short-Form Video)

Do you cringe at a typo in captions, a jump cut half a beat too late, or an edit that ignores the brief… and feel genuinely proud when a video goes out flawless on social? If so, we want to know you!

As a Post Production Manager at Brand Sharks, you’ll lead our editing team (currently ~10 editors) and own the journey from “raw footage + brief” to “finished, client-ready video.”

You’ll:

  • Review videos for quality and SOP compliance
  • Keep editors on track
  • Coach them to higher standards
  • Make sure everything ships on time
  • And report directly to the founder.

Your mission: make the editing machine run smoothly without needing the founder in the weeds.

This role oversees ~20 clients and ~500 short‑form videos per month across a global team of 10+ editors. It’s fast‑paced, detail‑heavy, and you will live inside ClickUp, Frame.io, and Slack. If that volume and responsibility excites you, you’ll love it here. If it feels overwhelming or “too much,” this won’t be a fit.

Responsibilities

Quality Control & Standards

  • Review edited videos to ensure they follow briefs, SOPs, brand guidelines, and platform best practices
  • Catch and prevent obvious errors before anything reaches clients (spelling, wrong assets, bad crops, pacing issues, etc.)
  • Maintain and continuously improve client / global editing checklists and SOPs

Team Management & Leadership

  • Manage a team of ~10 committed, driven editors
  • Run weekly 1:1s with editors to review performance, unblock issues, and keep them on track
  • Give clear, constructive feedback and coach editors up to Brand Sharks standards
  • Be the primary day-to-day point of contact for editors
  • Collaborate with strategy/script teams so editors have what they need to execute

Throughput & Debottlenecking

  • Monitor workloads, deadlines, and capacity; reassign work as needed to hit timelines
  • Work closely with the founder and ops to plan editor capacity for upcoming shoots and campaigns
  • Surface recurring bottlenecks and propose process fixes instead of just firefighting

Light Production Support (Not Required, but Nice-to-Have)

  • Jump in for light edits or tweaks during crunch times

Requirements

  • Meaningful experience working in video post-production, ideally with strong short-form experience (Reels, Shorts, TikTok)
  • You’ve managed or led a team of editors before (at least 3+ people), not just edited alone.
  • Strong eye for quality, detail, and brand alignment; you naturally spot mistakes and inconsistencies
  • Able to give clear, actionable feedback that editors respect and can implement
  • Fluent, confident English: You communicate clearly and concisely, can lead meetings, give direct feedback, and be understood the first time
  • Comfortable on Zoom if needed for client calls
  • Able to overlap most hours 9am–5pm MST (Mountain Time)

Bonus Points If

  • You’ve run editing teams in an agency, production house, or creator-focused shop
  • You’ve helped build or refine SOPs/checklists for editing teams
  • You create social media content for yourself

Results You Own

  • ≥ 95% of agreed editor deadlines hit each week (or renegotiated 24+ hours in advance).
  • ≥ 95% client approval rate on first‑pass scripted videos over a rolling 60‑day window.
  • Founder reviews ≤ 10 videos per week (you own the rest).
  • Near‑zero client‑visible errors (typos, wrong assets, off‑brand colors, wrong direction on inspo, etc).
  • Editors are clear, supported, and accountable (issues are solved at your level, not escalated to the founder).
