Responsibilities

Details of Research Project:

Postdoctoral Fellow will study the interaction between the immune and the nervous system, in the context of injury and repair at the barrier tissues. More particularly, they will try to understand the molecular and cellular components of the neuroimmune system that regulate injury in the nasal cavity and the gut. These studies will pave the way to develop novel and precise therapies for neuropathies and degenerative diseases, as well as new approaches for vaccines for infections.

Technical Duties:

  • Design, perform and analyze research experiments.
  • Set up, perform and master advanced techniques for immunological and neuronal characterization.
  • Present their research work at different meetings, internally and outside the school.
  • Attend and present in Lab meetings, department seminar and other meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator in the development of new experimental settings and novel techniques.
  • Assist the Principal Investigator with peer-reviewed publications, including experimental design and execution, data analysis, figures, writing and editing.
  • Mentor and train technician, master, and graduate students.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Educational and other Requirements for the position:

PhD in chemical, biological, pharmaceutical or other biomedical related sciences • Excellent written and oral communication skills and proficiency in English language • Talent, motivation and long-term commitment with basic research, determined by interview and reference letters.

Experience Required: Advance knowledge of Immunology and experience in immunological techniques.

Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project: To provide insights in the molecular and cellular neuroimmune mechanisms of tissue repair and regeneration, and the development of therapies for neuropathies and degenerative diseases.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72500 - $80000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
