PostgreSQL Support Engineer

Role Overview:
Advansys is seeking a skilled PostgreSQL Support Engineer to provide end-to-end database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. You’ll support mission-critical systems, ensure reliability and data integrity, and work closely with development and infrastructure teams to optimize PostgreSQL environments.

Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in production and staging environments.
Monitor database performance and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
Implement and manage backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
Handle incident response, root cause analysis, and database optimization.
Collaborate with developers to optimize SQL queries and schema design.
Ensure database security, patching, and high availability.
Requirements
Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL administration and tuning.
Proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL.
Experience with replication, clustering, and backup mechanisms.
Solid Linux system administration background.
Familiarity with monitoring tools (pg_stat_statements, Prometheus, Grafana).
