Postpartum Doula

Location: Arlington, VA

Hourly: $35–$50/hr

Hours: 1–2 daytime shifts per week (4–6 hours)

Age: Newborn (first-time parents)

First-time parents in Arlington expecting a baby in late April are seeking a daytime postpartum doula beginning mid-April. The family would love guidance from an experienced professional as they adjust to life with a newborn. They would appreciate support with soothing techniques, newborn care, and feeding.

Dad will be home for the first month, and the family expects to need 1–2 shifts per week (4–6 hours) during that time. After about 4 weeks, the schedule will be at least 2 shifts per week.

This role includes caring for the baby so mom can rest or shower, while also offering reassurance and guidance to first-time parents.

Requirements

• 3+ years of dedicated professional postpartum doula experience
• Must be legal to work in the US
• Excellent communication skills
• Up-to-date vaccinations (TDAP and flu required COVID recommended).
• Strong, verifiable in-home newborn and postpartum doula care references
• Professionalism, discretion, and reliability.

Compensation

• $30–$55/hour, depending on your experience and services.
• You quote your own rate — families pay you directly.
