Poultry Farm Manager

Responsibilities:

• Plan, direct, and monitor daily farm operations for 100,000 laying hens.
• Maintain optimal flock conditions through effective ventilation, lighting, temperature, and water management.
• Monitor production KPIs: egg production %, feed intake, mortality, and body weight.
• Implement vaccination schedules, veterinary treatments, and health monitoring programs.
• Ensure accurate feed formulations and consistent feed quality.
• Track feed conversion ratio (FCR) and minimize feed cost per dozen eggs.
• Work with nutritionists/veterinarians to optimize diets at every production stage.
• Supervise 60–80 farm staff, including supervisors, technicians, and workers.
• Recruit, train, and appraise staff for performance and safety.
• Foster a disciplined, safety-conscious, and performance-driven culture.
• Prepare and manage farm budgets (feed, labor, veterinary, utilities).
• Maintain accurate farm records: daily, weekly, and monthly (production, feed, mortality).
• Enforce strict biosecurity protocols (entry control, disinfection, PPE usage).
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for labor, environment, and food safety.
• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Hen-day egg production % (target: >90% at peak lay).
• Mortality rate (% per cycle).
• Feed cost per dozen eggs.
• Feed conversion ratio (kg feed/dozen eggs).
• Egg quality (shell strength, crack %, average egg weight).
• Labor productivity (eggs/employee/day).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or related field.
• 7–10 years’ experience in large-scale commercial layer operations (50,000+ birds).
• Strong expertise in caged systems, production optimization, and flock health.
• Solid knowledge of poultry nutrition, disease prevention, and biosecurity.
• Experience with automated feeding, watering, and egg collection systems preferred.
