Power Plant Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operation and maintenance of the power plant, including boilers, turbines, compressors, boiler water treatment plant and other related accessories and services.
  • Ensure continuous and reliable supply of power and steam to production facilities.
  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. And ensure proper upkeep of the asset all the time.
  • Monitor plant performance indicators and take corrective actions to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Bring cost efficiency both in fuel consumption as well as overheads through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and energy regulations and company policies.
  • Lead the team of engineers, technicians, and operators, ensuring proper training and development.
  • Plan and manage the annual power plant budget, including fuel and maintenance costs.
  • Review, record, analyze and circulate technical reports, maintenance logs, and performance summaries.
  • Manage effective and smooth relationship and coordinate with other functions and customers
  • Lead and champion energy-saving, sustainability and eco friendly initiatives.
  • Liaise with external vendors, contractors and OEMs for all equipment and utility service related matters
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering.
  • Minimum 810 years of experience in power plant operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated and proven experience of successfully installation, commissioning, and operations of multi fuel high pressure boilers, steam turbines and co-generation system
  • Excellent technical knowledge of power generation and distribution systems, more specifically, operation and maintenance of thermal power plant including boiler water chemistry, and steam purity requirement
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environment and safety
Certificates Required
  • Certified Power Plant Professional (CPP) or equivalent is preferred/ Boiler Proficiency certificate (BOE)
  • Safety and environmental certifications are an advantage.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for analysis and presentations. Familiarity with SCADA, DCS. Power management system and maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Language Skills: Proficient in English for communication, reporting, and documentation. Arabic speaking and reading proficiency is a plus.
