- System Operations:
- Monitor and coordinate real-time operation of power transmission systems to ensure stability, safety, and reliability.
- Support transmission switching, load flow analysis, and contingency planning.
- Coordinate planned and unplanned outages with relevant departments and external partners.
- Outage Coordination:
- Develop and manage transmission outage schedules.
- Coordinate with transmission owners, generation operators, and system operators.
- Evaluate system impacts of outages and propose mitigation strategies.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between internal departments (engineering, operations, maintenance) and external agencies (ISOs, RTOs).
- Maintain clear documentation and communication logs for coordination activities.
- Support emergency operations and restoration efforts during system disturbances or weather events.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with applicable NERC/FERC reliability standards.
- Maintain accurate records and reports for audits and regulatory reviews.
- Assist with implementing reliability plans and operating procedures.
- Technical Support:
- Analyze transmission system performance and suggest improvements.
- Utilize EMS/SCADA systems for real-time data and operational planning.
- Participate in model validation and system studies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Equivalent technical experience or certifications may be considered.
- Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in transmission system operations, coordination, or electrical utility environment.
