Koniag Data Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a PowerBuilder Developer with a Secret clearance to support KDS and our government customer in Kettering, OH. This is a hybrid opportunity.

Koniag Data Solution, is seeking a skilled a PowerBuilder Developer to join our software development team. The ideal candidate will possess solid experience in PowerBuilder application development and maintenance, with a good understanding of database integration and client-server architecture. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can contribute effectively to development efforts, collaborate with senior team members, and assist in the maintenance and enhancement of existing PowerBuilder applications while supporting migration initiatives to modern technologies.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
The PowerBuilder Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining applications using PowerBuilder technology. This role will work under the guidance of senior developers while taking ownership of assigned components and features. Principal responsibilities include:
  • Develop and maintain PowerBuilder applications according to specifications
  • Debug and resolve technical issues in existing applications
  • Create and optimize database queries and stored procedures
  • Implement changes and enhancements to existing applications
  • Document code, technical specifications, and processes
  • Participate in code reviews and adhere to coding standards
  • Collaborate with business analysts and senior developers to understand requirements
  • Support application migration efforts from PowerBuilder to modern technologies
  • Develop and execute test cases for application components
  • Provide production support for business applications
  • Participate in team meetings and planning sessions
Education and Experience:
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in PowerBuilder development
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or other relational databases
  • Experience with client-server architecture implementation
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification (current)
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of PowerBuilder
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
  • Proficiency in SQL and basic stored procedure development
  • Experience with version control system (Git, SVN, or similar)
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear documentation skills
  • Effective communication with team members and stakeholders
  • Ability to work under supervision and independently on assigned tasks.
Other responsibilities:
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership team
