Pre-Algebra/Algebra I Teacher

Position Overview

PATH Milford, a Christian homeschool co-op, is seeking an individual who has the ability to lay a solid foundation in Algebra in an environment where faith and academic excellence go hand-in-hand. This class meets for 60 minutes, two times per week. We believe that mathematics is a unique window into the order and design of God’s creation. If you love math and want to teach, we would love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

• Instructional Leadership: Review homework assignments and introduce new material. Must be organized and focused in order to utilize limited classroom time.
• Curriculum Integration: Maps out daily assignments for work at home.
• Gradebook: Record all assignments/tests through the online learning management system
• Student Mentorship: While students do a good portion of the learning at home, the tutor will give constructive feedback, namely in the form of graded assignments and tests, and maintain clear communication with homeschooling parents regarding student expectations and progress.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Faith Commitment: A dedicated follower of Jesus Christ who agrees with our Statement of Faith and is eager to model Christian character to students.
• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Math is preferred but not required.
• Teaching Experience: Prior teaching or tutoring experience as well as a love for the subject and the students is highly valued; experience within the homeschool community or a co-op setting is a plus.
• Communication Skills: Ability to explain the subject with the textbook as a guide and clearly lay out homework assignments.
• Logistics: Must be able to pass a background check and possess the organizational skills to manage a classroom effectively.
