Pre-Contracts Engineer / Pre-Contracts Coordinator


Salary: 20,000 – 30,000 AED Monthly

Location: Dubai, UAE (on-site)

Industry: Interior Fit-Out (Commercial, F&B, Hospitality, and Corporate Projects)


**You WILL NEED 3–5 years’ experience in a fit-out or construction company in a technical or pre-contracts role** - anything else different or less won't be considered for submission.


**Strong understanding of fit-out materials, joinery, and MEP coordination is MANDATORY**

Role Overview


The Pre-Contracts Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting the Pre-Contracts Manager across technical, commercial, and documentation aspects of tendering and project setup. This includes detailed drawing reviews, material take-offs, supplier and subcontractor coordination, and preparation of competitive, well-structured tender documentation.

The role demands a strong technical foundation, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate seamlessly across design, estimation, and procurement teams to deliver accurate, buildable, and commercially viable proposals.


Key Responsibilities


Technical Support & Documentation

  • Review design drawings, BOQs, and specifications to ensure technical completeness and buildability.
  • Prepare RFI lists and clarification logs to highlight design gaps and inconsistencies.
  • Assist in developing method statements, construction methodologies, and technical submissions.
  • Compile pre-qualification and tender documentation, including presentations and technical write-ups.


Estimating & Procurement Coordination

  • Work closely with estimators to ensure accurate quantities and scope definitions.
  • Prepare and issue subcontractor and supplier inquiries, collect quotations, and perform comparative analysis.
  • Support value engineering exercises by researching material alternatives and sourcing competitive suppliers.


Design & Technical Coordination

  • Collaborate with design and MEP teams to ensure technical alignment across disciplines.
  • Produce summary drawings and comparison charts for alternate solutions or design revisions.
  • Maintain up-to-date drawing logs, revisions, and version control during tender stage.


Administrative & Process Support

  • Manage the tender document tracker, ensuring all deliverables meet submission deadlines.
  • Format and organize technical submissions, pre-qualifications, and tender binders for presentation.
  • Support handover documentation to the project team upon award, ensuring clarity of scope and assumptions.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a fit-out or construction company in a technical or pre-contracts role.
  • Strong understanding of fit-out materials, joinery, and MEP coordination.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and quantity take-off software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
