Pre-K/Kindergarten Teacher Needed

Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Pre-K/Kindergarten Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a love of education from the earliest stages. In this role, you will create a nurturing classroom environment that promotes childhood development, literacy, social skills, and early intervention strategies. Work hours

9:00am-5:00pm. 1 hour for lunch.

Duties

  • Develop and implement dynamic curriculum plans tailored to preschool and kindergarten students, incorporating literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods where applicable
  • Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth
  • Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies
  • Conduct assessments to monitor child progress, including standardized testing and informal evaluations
  • Plan and execute engaging lessons that support early intervention, childhood development, and special education needs
  • Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate student progress, behavioral concerns, and developmental milestones
  • Incorporate classroom management best practices to maintain an organized learning space conducive to active learning and childcare needs
  • Support toddlers’ care routines and ensure compliance with child welfare standards in daycare settings
  • Integrate teaching physical education activities that promote motor skills development and overall health
  • Utilize communication skills to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education
  • Proven classroom experience working with preschool or kindergarten-aged children in a daycare or private school setting
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles, childhood development, and classroom management techniques
  • Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and Montessori methods preferred
  • Must be able to pass a criminal and sex offender background check
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship
  • Must be willing to sign a 10-month contract. June and July off w/o compensation. Candidate may seek seasonal summer employment and resume their position August 1st.
  • Familiarity with special education strategies and early intervention programs is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with parents, colleagues, and students’ families
  • Ability to implement behavior management strategies that foster a positive learning environment
  • Knowledge of standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood assessment tools
  • Prior experience in tutoring or teaching physical education is a plus

Hiring Timeline

Monarch Montessori School practices transparent hiring, giving candidates clear, accurate and timely information about the role, compensation and our evaluation process. Hiring timelines are dependent upon the completion of background checks, the submission of character references, degree, transcripts, resume reflecting education and experience, employer verification, and panel interview process. All lead staff subject to 6-month probationary process.
