Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Pre-Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support cases in personal injury. The Pre-Litigation Paralegal will play a vital role in managing case files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, and ensuring smooth case progression through effective case management and document review.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with case preparation, including legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools.
- Manage case files utilizing document management systems in CloudLex
- Draft, proofread, and review legal documents.
- Conduct thorough document review and organize evidence for cases.
- Support litigation processes.
- Maintain accurate case management records.
- Coordinate with clients for interviews and gather relevant information for case development.
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, transcription, and maintaining calendars for deadlines and court dates.
- Assist with project management tasks to ensure efficient workflow across multiple cases.
- Provide executive administrative support to attorneys as needed, including managing schedules and phone etiquette.
Requirements
- Proven paralegal experience with a strong background in pre-litigation roles and litigation support in Personal Injury.
- Proficiency in legal research tools including LexisNexis.
- Experience with case management software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
- Ability to perform legal proofreading and transcription accurately.
- Knowledge of legal procedures related to pre-litigation and litigation processes including document review and filing requirements.
- Effective interviewing skills for client interactions.
- Familiarity with contracts and legal document review processes.
- Strong clerical skills including data entry, filing systems, and administrative support functions.
- Excellent phone etiquette coupled with organizational skills necessary for a fast-paced legal environment. Pay: $35,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
