Preschool Assistant Teacher

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a background in childcare and/or early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. This role involves assisting the Preschool Lead Teacher with all activities in the daily schedule and assisting with the needs of each child in the classroom.

Duties

• Be available to work as contracted for weekday morning hours for the assigned class. This includes additional time for preparation and planning with the Head Teacher.
• Assist the Head Teacher with all activities within the preschool curriculum.
• Teach under the supervision of the Head Teacher.
• Participate in staff development activities
• Fill in as Head Teacher in his/her absence.
• Refer all parent questions regarding children’s progress, problems or discipline issues to the Head Teacher.
• Participate in Open House activities and Back-to-School Night
• Obtain CPR and basic First Aid Certification
• Participate in Safe Sanctuary Training
• Encouraged to pursue continuing education courses
• Discuss with the Head Teacher any recommendations for improvement and changes to the preschool program

Requirements

• The Assistant Teacher must be above the age of 18, possess a High School Diploma or GED and have some experience working with young children.
