Preschool Assistant Teacher

Job Summary
St. John's Lutheran Preschool is looking for a part time Assistant Teacher during the hours of 8am to 1pm, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, approximately 15 hours a week. Employment to begin after August 3, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Provide love and quality care for the children throughout the day to meet their emotional and physical needs
• Prepare materials and art supplies for daily activities as directed by the lead teacher
• Support the lead teacher in classroom management and transitions between activities
• Assist students with bathroom breaks and washing hands
• Change students’ diapers at least once during the school morning; additional changes may be needed at times
• Attending staff trainings, meetings, and programs sponsored by the preschool
• Work collaboratively with classroom lead teacher and other staff members
• Work with lead teacher to keep classroom organized
• Must have a passion for working with children!

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children
• HS diploma or GED required
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must have the ability to multitask
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Must work well with children and have the energy and flexibility to meet the changing needs of children.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
