Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Daycare Director/Lead Teacher to oversee daily operations and provide high-quality early childhood education. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childhood development, classroom management, and working with young children, including infants and toddlers. This leadership role requires a nurturing approach, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to create a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum aligned with early childhood education standards
- Lead classroom activities for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs
- Manage daily operations of the daycare center, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and safety protocols
- Supervise and support teaching staff and caregivers to maintain a positive learning environment
- Conduct regular assessments of children's developmental progress and communicate updates to parents
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children through proper supervision and adherence to safety procedures
- Coordinate staff schedules, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
- Foster strong relationships with families to promote community engagement and support child development goals
- Maintain accurate records related to attendance, incidents, and developmental milestones
Requirements
- Proven experience in childcare settings such as daycare, preschool, or classroom teaching
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and practices
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable
- Certification in First Aid and CPR required; additional certifications in special education or behavior management are a plus
- Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behavioral needs effectively
- Background in early childhood education or related fields preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of educators while maintaining a nurturing environment for children
- Experience with infant care, toddler care, preschool activities, and classroom experience necessary
- Compassionate caregiver with excellent communication skills for engaging with children and families alike
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced setting
