Preschool Director

Good Shepherd School is seeking a qualified, faith-filled, and passionate Preschool Director to lead our preschool program. The Preschool Director is responsible for the administration, supervision, and daily operation of the preschool, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of young children.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for the daily operation of the preschool program.
• Ensure compliance with all Kentucky licensing, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Recruit, train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate preschool staff.
• Maintain required staff-to-child ratios and classroom coverage.
• Oversee curriculum implementation and developmentally appropriate instructional practices.
• Foster positive relationships with students, families, staff, and the school community.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, program activities, and concerns.
• Maintain accurate student, staff, attendance, health, and licensing records.
• Coordinate enrollment, registration, and retention efforts.
• Assist with budgeting, purchasing, and management of preschool resources.
• Ensure staff complete required training, certifications, and continuing education.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and nurturing environment through effective health and safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Pastor.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet Kentucky Preschool Director licensing requirements, including:

• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred; other qualifying credentials and experience accepted under Kentucky regulations.
• Minimum four (4) years of documented experience in a licensed or certified child care, preschool, Head Start, or school setting.
• Supervisory or lead teacher experience preferred.
• Completion of required Kentucky pre-service and annual continuing education training.
• Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
• Successful completion of all required state and federal background checks and health requirements.
