Epiphany Lutheran Church and School is seeking a visionary educator and servant-leader to serve as the spiritual, academic, and operational leader of our preschool (serving infants through Kindergarten). The Director is responsible for fostering a nurturing, a Christ-centered environment rooted in the teachings of the Lutheran Confessions. This role shapes the hearts and minds of students, staff, and families with biblical truths, cultivating a love of learning and faith in Christ. The Director answers to the School Board and is overseen by the Senior Pastor.
Key ResponsibilitiesSpiritual & Academic Leadership
- Lutheran Worldview: Ensure the school’s teachings, policies, and culture strictly reflect a strong confessional Lutheran, Christ-centered worldview.
- Spiritual Development: Partner daily with the Senior Pastor to coordinate staff and student devotions, chapel services, and spiritual activities.
- Classical Education Curriculum: Oversee the design and implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum built in the tradition of classical education, focusing heavily on the grammar phase of education.
- Faculty Mentorship: Supervise faculty growth, offering regular evaluations and training in classical education methodologies.
Operational & Financial Management
- Daily Operations: Manage day-to-day preschool operations including student enrollment, scheduling, logistics, and staff recruitment/retention.
- Compliance & Licensing: Ensure strict adherence to all state and local regulations, health and safety standards, inspections, and certifications.
- Accreditation: Oversee and lead the school's efforts to attain and maintain accreditation through National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA).
- Financial Oversight: In collaboration with the Business Manager, prepare budgets, set tuition and wage structures (with board approval), manage billing/payroll approval, and provide monthly financial updates to the Board.
Community Engagement & Development
- School Spokesperson: Serve as the chief representative of the preschool to the congregation and the wider community.
- Partnership Building: Create strong, supportive relationships with parents, church members, and local partners.
- Strategic Growth: Lead fundraising and development initiatives to ensure the long-term institutional sustainability and growth of the program.
Job Requirements
- Faith & Alignment: Must be willing to worship and be an active member of Epiphany Lutheran Church and have a profound passion for Christian education.
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field.
- Experience: At least five (5) years of classroom teaching experience paired with a minimum of two (2) years of administrative/leadership experience. Experience within a classical or Lutheran educational setting is highly preferred.
- Core Competencies: Strong foundational knowledge of classical education principles; stellar communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; and the entrepreneurial energy required to build and scale a new program.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
