Job Summary
Aquarelle Kids Academy is seeking a passionate and energetic Preschool Lead Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment. As a key leader in early childhood education, you will design and implement developmentally appropriate curricula that promote literacy, math, social-emotional skills, and physical activity. Your role is vital in guiding children through their early years, supporting their growth in a safe and stimulating setting. You will collaborate with families, staff, and specialists to ensure each child's unique needs are met, creating a positive foundation for lifelong learning.
Duties
- Develop and execute dynamic lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori methods where applicable.
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social skills among preschoolers.
- Implement curriculum development strategies that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and sensory activities.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques, fostering respect and cooperation among children.
- Support children with special education needs and participate in early intervention programs to promote optimal development.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of children's progress using standardized testing tools and observational methods to tailor instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with families to communicate children's progress, address concerns, and provide guidance on child welfare and developmental milestones.
- Supervise classroom staff and volunteers, ensuring high standards of childcare, safety protocols, and classroom management are maintained.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental assessments, lesson plans, and incident reports.
- Stay current with best practices in childhood development, early intervention strategies, and early childhood education trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; Montessori certification is a plus.
- CDF 45 Hrs. Certification & CDA (Child Development Associate) Credentials
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Experience with curriculum development across literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and special education needs.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment tools for young children.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, families, staff, and community partners.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate diverse learning styles including toddler care and preschool activities.
- Knowledge of child welfare practices and safety procedures within childcare settings.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team while fostering a positive learning environment that promotes growth and curiosity.
