Preschool Lead Teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking a Full-time, Preschool Teacher to join our school. We are a faith-based, early-learning center in the Dutchtown/Geismar community of Ascension Parish. Kaleidoscope has been helping young learners for 18 years, and we are looking for an individual who will continue our legacy of early learning. We are looking for an experienced (3+ years) preschool teacher whose love for children is on display every day.

Duties

• Lead teacher should be familiar with implement lesson plans. At Kaleidoscope, we provide weekly curriculum to our classrooms. Teachers should be able to carry out the curriculum provided, but have the flexibility to add their own flare.
• Lead classroom activities that promote social-emotional growth, behavior management, and positive interactions among children.
• Our preschool classrooms have potty-trained students only, but it is imperative that the lead teacher help foster that independence through routine and classroom expectations.
• Manage classroom environments to ensure safety, cleanliness, and organization conducive to active learning and toddler care.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and staff to communicate children's progress, address concerns, and support child welfare initiatives.

Skills

• Extensive experience in early childhood education with a strong background in preschool experience and classroom management.
• Proficiency in curriculum development across multiple domains including literacy education, math, physical education, and hands-on, engaged learning practices.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and special education accommodations.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with parents, team members, and community partners effectively.
• Familiarity with all Louisiana Department of Education childcare regulations, daycare standards, private school environments, and child welfare practices.
