Pre-K Lead Teacher – Role Summary

A Pre-K Lead Teacher creates a safe, nurturing, structured, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports children’s social–emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. They guide classroom assistants, communicate with families, and ensure compliance with early childhood standards and licensing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned with early learning standards
  • Promote learning through play-based and hands-on activities
  • Support social-emotional development using positive guidance techniques
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and track student progress
  • Create a safe, inclusive, culturally responsive classroom environment
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians
  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or paraprofessionals
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing rules, district policies, and safety procedures
