Minimum Qualifications
- 2–5 years of professional childcare experience.
- At least 12 ECE units completed (including one Infant & Toddler class).
- Must pass FBI & DOJ background checks.
- CPR and First Aid certified.
- Able to commute to Lafayette, CA.
Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children. This role involves designing engaging lesson plans, implementing curriculum, and fostering a love for learning in preschool-aged children.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that meets the developmental needs of children.
- Create lesson plans that incorporate various subjects including literacy, math, and physical education.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies.
- Provide individualized support to children with special needs or those requiring early intervention.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development and progress.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the educational experience.
Skills
- Strong background in early childhood education with experience working with preschool-aged children.
- Proficient in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques.
- Experience in special education or early intervention is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with standardized testing practices as well as tutoring methods is a plus.
- Ability to teach physical education activities tailored for young learners.
- Experience in daycare or private school settings is advantageous.
