SMALL SCHOOL, LICENSED FOR 18 CHILDREN

Minimum Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional childcare experience.
• At least 12 ECE units completed (including one Infant & Toddler class).
• Must pass FBI & DOJ background checks.
• CPR and First Aid certified.
• Able to commute to Lafayette, CA.

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children. This role involves designing engaging lesson plans, implementing curriculum, and fostering a love for learning in preschool-aged children.

Duties

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that meets the developmental needs of children.
• Create lesson plans that incorporate various subjects including literacy, math, and physical education.
• Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
• Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies.
• Provide individualized support to children with special needs or those requiring early intervention.
• Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development and progress.
• Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the educational experience.

Skills

• Strong background in early childhood education with experience working with preschool-aged children.
• Proficient in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques.
• Experience in special education or early intervention is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Familiarity with standardized testing practices as well as tutoring methods is a plus.
• Ability to teach physical education activities tailored for young learners.
• Experience in daycare or private school settings is advantageous.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
