Preschool Teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking a experienced and energetic Preschool Teacher for our small preschool classroom in Cranston. The qualified candidate should have experience with lesson planning, including the RIELDS in your curriculum. The classroom has a maximum of 15 children with a teacher and assistant. The children are between the ages of 3-5 years old. This is a prime opportunity for someone who wants to take a lead role creating a warm, engaging classroom environment that promotes curiosity, social-emotional growth, and foundational skills across various areas including literacy, math, physical education, and social interaction. Duties

• Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to early childhood development standards, incorporating elements of the RIELDS.
• Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social-emotional learning through engaging activities and age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Manage daily classroom routines with effective behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions and discipline.
• Conduct assessments of each child's developmental progress using standardized testing methods and observational techniques to inform instruction and support early intervention needs.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress reports, and behavioral observations while ensuring compliance with childcare regulations and standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, classroom management, childcare best practices.
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences to communicate children's progress effectively and foster strong home-school connections.

Requirements

• 1-2 years experience working in an early childhood, preschool classroom.
• Classroom management skills that promote positive behavior and foster a positive learning environment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and engage parents in their child's educational journey.
• Knowledge of childcare regulations and best practices.
• Certification in early childhood education or related fields a plus.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
