Discovery Learning Center is a nature-based early childhood program where learning unfolds through wonder, exploration, and creativity. Rooted in the philosophies of Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and art-based education, we believe that children learn best when they are connected to the natural world and free to express themselves through meaningful, hands-on experiences. We are currently seeking a passionate, experienced, and collaborative Outdoor Preschool Teacher to join our close-knit and dedicated team.

Position Overview:
We are looking for a teacher who brings curiosity, warmth, and intention to their work with children. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing Reggio and/or Montessori-inspired approaches, a strong foundation in art-based education, and a deep love for nature and outdoor learning. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to adapt and thrive in an outdoor classroom environment in all seasons.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and facilitate engaging, child-led learning experiences in an outdoor setting.
• Observe and document children’s development to guide curriculum planning and family communication.
• Collaborate closely with co-teachers and contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture.
• Build trusting, respectful relationships with children and families.
• Prioritize safety and well-being in all aspects of the outdoor environment.

Qualifications:

• At least 12 Early Childhood Education Units
• Demonstrated experience with Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and/or art-based early childhood approaches.
• At least 1-2 years of early childhood teaching experience, preferably in outdoor or nature-based settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a true team player.
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
